May 23, Thursday - Kal's Knoya Ridge Run - AnchorageTO TOP
UPHILL ONLY on rolling forest trail and alpine singletrack. Three race lengths as follows:
Full Monty: 8.5K and 4,300' vertical climb. Limited to 100 participants. Grand Prix points race unless the organizers shorten the course for safety reasons (in that event, the Original course will substitute for the Grand Prix)
For 2013, the Full Monty is canceled due to excessive snow. The course length will be determined on race day. It will definitely go as high as The Dome and if conditions allow will go to the Original course finish.
The Original: 5.6K and 2900' vertical
The Happy Trail: 2.5K and 1200' vertical
Meet 5:00 pm
Directions: Muldoon to Pioneer, Pioneer to Klutina. Park along Pioneer. Walk through the gate at Klutina and follow trail to registration
Race Time: 6:00 pm

July 4, Thursday - Mount Marathon Race - SewardTO TOP
Mount Marathon Race is the oldest mountain race in the U.S. and will celebrate
its 86th running in 2013. It goes UP AND DOWN a steep 3,000-foot mountain
and is about 3 miles long. The junior division goes halfway.
Entry applications for priority runners and lottery entrants are accepted from
January 1 - March 31st at www.mmr.seward.com
Entry fees: $65 adults/$25 junior
Race times: Juniors - 9:30 am; Women - 11:15 a.m.; Men - 3 pm

Description: 14 miles with 9,100' vertical gain and the same amount of elevation loss. OUT-AND-BACK course. Route ascends Lazy Mountain, descends
backside of Lazy and then climbs Matanuska Peak before returning in reverse.

Description: UPHILL ONLY 2.2-mile mountain sprint with 2,000-foot elevation gain. Starts on CAT tracks and ascends rest of way on alpine single track.
