THE GRAND PRIX POINT SYSTEM


The Alaska Mountain Running Grand Prix point system is in accordance with the World Mountain Running Association standards.

Current Results

Grand Prix Open:
  • Points are awarded for the first 20 men and women in each race based on the FIS Continental Cup scoring system. 

  • You must finish at least 3 races to be eligible for the Grand Prix, we count up to 4 races.  If you run in more than 4 races, we will count your 4 best performances.

  • 1st place - 100 points

  • 2nd - 90

  • 3rd - 85

  • 4th - 80

  • 5th - 75

  • 6th - 70

  • 7th - 65

  • 20th - 1 

  • New Record - 10 points

  • Run the Gamut - 10 points

  • Attendance per race - 5 points

  • Volunteer for a race - 5 points (limit 1 time)

Grand Prix Age Divisions:

  • Points are awarded to the first 5 individuals in their respective age categories.

  • You must finish at least 3 races to be eligible for awards.  We will count up to 4 races.  If you run in more than 4 races, we will count your 4 best performances.
  • 1st - 5 points

  • 2nd - 4

  • 3rd - 3

  • 4th - 2

  • 5th - 1

  • Attendance per race- 1 point

  • Run the Gamut - 1 points

  • Volunteer - 1 point can be gained for volunteering
